Truly amazing, Blossom! How did you get that fabulous photo of a bird on a giraffe?'s head? I stand in awe - just beautiful, and as worthy as anything in the National Geographic.

Pooooo LBD said exactly what I was going to say - except I wanted to say it first . . . sulks . . .

Blossom, these photos are so well chosen in their subjects, and your eye is so true ... great combination!

I keep thinking of these sensitive views of splendid animals and then ... quick cut over to your lovely capturing of so many wedding celebrations. This makes me think what a talent you have.

Thank you LBD, WW and Frances for your kind comments.
Oxpeckers can be found all the time on the giraffe's head and neck. We were very close to this giraffe, they really are the quietest and kindest creatures. We sat for ages just watching her and her calf browse through the trees.
I have a good but not really very expensive long range lens with a stabilizer and I just clicked away.
If you click on the the picture it will come up in another window and you will be able to see very clearly what the Oxpecker is after. TICKS!!

I love Africa!!! I'm itching to get back there again someday. There is no place like it. It gets into your blood in some strange way. Your pictures are really beautiful. I love the picture of the Oxpecker. They're such funny birds! The family of ellies is precious. Gorgeous portrait of the zebra. The King Cheetah - WOW! They're all GORGEOUS!
